If it were not for the pioneering spirit of Errol Dicks the company would not exist. In 1994 Errol and fellow retrenched associates joined forces resulting in the birth of Speed Weave. Initially, all products were imported from an associated entity in the Far East. However, in 1999 it was unanimously decided that to ensure Speed Weave’s ability to fulfil it’s mission statement, attain its potential and align itself with South African policies, Speed Weave Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd was incorporated.

In the course of six years Speed Weave Manufacturing grew from a company that imported its products to an enterprise that supplies not only the entire national market, but now has international associations. From its headquarters and manufacturing base in Cape Town, with branches in Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth, the company's woven and printed products are marketed not in only South Africa but also in Europe, New Zealand and the United States of America.

We are proud to confirm that we are the first Black Empowerment woven label manufacturer in South Africa, as the company is managed and controlled by previously disadvantaged individuals. Speed Weave has grown rapidly from its original four members, to a staff compliment of sixty two people.
